A 22-year-old man missed the birth of his child after deputies arrested him on a charge of public intoxication inside a Citrus County delivery room.
Brian Badra of Crystal River is charged with disorderly intoxication, resisting an officer without violence and trespassing.
Deputies said they were called out Sunday to Seven Rivers Hospital in Crystal River.
Badra's fiancee had been admitted to the hospital to give birth to their child, an arrest affidavit states. Deputies said in the birthing room, Badra was so intoxicated he became belligerent, began kicking doors and became disruptive to staff.
Badra reportedly refused to leave hospital property when security asked him to leave.
Deputies said Badra threatened to get a gun from his car and "protect his fiancee from people like you," referring to law enforcement officers.
Badra was warned not to step foot back on the property but did so again, deputies said.
Deputies said when they placed Badra under arrest, he made numerous threats to kill them and then return to the hospital with a gun.
