A Crystal River man has admitted to trading sexual photos of children between the ages of 3 and 13, according to Citrus County deputies.
Alan Thompson, 32, of Crystal River faces one count of knowingly possessing photos with sexual conduct by a child and one count of possession to promote photos with sexual conduct by a child. He is being held on $200,000 bond.
On Sept. 10, deputies helped Homeland Security agents search a home at 807 N. Hollywood Circle.
The agents said they were able to collect at least 20 images of child pornography after examining electronic devices owned by Thompson. Agents said the images showed prepubescent females between the ages of 3 and 13 in various stages of sexual intercourse and displaying their genitals for the camera.
According to agents, Thompson was determined to be in possession of child pornography after he was found on a chat group associated with the trading of the material.
An arrest affidavit says an undercover agent was in the chat room and began collecting evidence on Thompson.
During this time, agents say, Thompson distributed or sent more than 20 images of child pornography to the undercover agent.
During an interview, Thompson confessed to sending and collecting images of child pornography, deputies said.
Thompson also confirmed that the user names and emails associated with the investigation were his and that the images found on his computer were his, deputies said.
The case is now being handled to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
