The incident occurred about 12:30 a.m. Saturday at a home at 4841 Huron St. in Zephyrhills, according a Pasco County Sheriff's Office release.

Ramdath went to the Zephyrhills house in an attempt to see a 16-year-old girl, the release said.

The girl's father, identified as Roger Lee Dean, 51, told the Ramdath to leave.

The 24-year-old man threatened to kill the man, pulled a gun and fired, the release said. Dean was hit once in the thigh area.

Dean was flown to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa as a trauma alert.
