Macy's announced Wednesday plans to hire 80,000 workers for the upcoming holiday season.

The company says it will have its national hiring event on Oct. 18, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., in local time zones.

Applicants can visit all Macy's, Bloomingdale's and Macy's Backstage stores.

Candidates unable to attend can also complete the interview process over the phone.

Macy’s, Inc. is focused on providing customers with a great shopping experience, and we wouldn’t be able to do that without our colleagues – who are the key to our success,” said John Harper, Macy’s chief stores officer. “Seasonal colleagues play an especially important role in the Macy’s holiday shopping experience, whether in a store, a fulfillment or distribution center or in a call center.
