There are ways you can help the families and the animals who have lost everything just before the holidays.

The American Red Cross of Ventura County is asking for donations for the shelters in the area. You can donate online, by phone at 800-733-2767 or by texting "REDCROSS" to 90999.

The United Way of Ventura County is accepting donations for its Thomas fire fund online. You can also text "UWVC" to 4144.

The Humane Society of Ventura County needs help too. They say they have enough food and water but could use monetary donations online to buy Alfalfa hay for displaced horses, burrows and alpacas.

The Los Angeles County Animal CareFoundation gives supplies and training to first responders who are rescuing animals through their Noah Legacy Fund. They are accepting donations online.
