Girl dies after suffering cardiac arrest on flight out of Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES -- A girl has died after suffering a cardiac arrest during a flight out of Los Angeles Thursday night, according to a report.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call of a medical emergency at LAX a little before 6 p.m. Firefighters say paramedics tried to revive her but was pronounced dead on scene.

The young girl was on a Delta flight from LAX to Seattle when she suffered the medical emergency, according to ABC-affiliate station ABC7 in Los Angeles. The plane turned around while it was still over Southern California and returned to LAX.

Officials did not specify the girl's exact age but is believed to be around 10 years old, ABC7 reports.
