Mars Chocolate North America, the Washington-based company that manufactures the chocolates, issued the voluntary recall Friday, saying some bags may contain pieces of its other products, including Snickers, Milky Way and Twix.
The recall affects approximately 6,700 cases of Dove's Chocolate Assortment Snowflakes. The 24 oz. bags were sold in U.S. Walmart stores in 35 states between Sept. 19 and Dec. 1 of this year.
"People who have allergies to peanuts, wheat and/or eggs have the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products," the company said in a statement. "We are fully cooperating with the FDA on this matter. Food safety and product quality are of paramount importance to Mars, and we are committed to the highest standards for all of our products."
No injuries or adverse reactions have been reported, the statement said.
Mars would not name the retailer who sold the chocolate snowflakes, but said stores in 35 states are affected.
