During a military coup overnight Friday, CNN Turk was raided by Turkish military around 3:40 a.m. local time, forcing the station off the air for nearly an hour.

The anchors were seen packing up and leaving the station. Several other station employees were seen packing up and leaving. After employees left the studio, the network's cameras remained on, focused on an empty anchor's desk.

Military personnel was not seen on camera.

Earlier in the evening, military had taken over Turkish state TV. That station has resumed broadcasting.

Turkish officials said the democratically-elected government remains in control, as thousands of Turks have taken to the streets. But violence has continued in Turkey.

The network tweeted that station employees were leaving the station at gunpoint. Those employees have since returned.
