A full size van struck Antoni Pereira, 45, on Thursday in the parking lot of a Hudson business.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, Pereira was transported to Bayonet Point Regional Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

Initial investigations have determined the van was reportedly stolen out of Hernando county Wednesday morning. Thursday, just before 5 p.m., the van's owner and his brother-in-law, Pereira, were in a car following the stolen vehicle from Hernando county and into Pasco county.

The driver of the van, Bethia Linn Politis, 33, pulled into the business' parking lot. Pereira then exited the vehicle and approached the driver's side of the van. When Politis attempted to flee in the van, Pereira was struck.

Politis is in custody and is facing charges of felony murder and grand theft auto. No booking photo is available at this time as she has not been officially booked into the Land O' Lakes Detention Center.

There is no further information to release at this time. The incident remains under investigation.
