The gator was cornered on someone's front porch in Richmond.
The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office says a resident called them about it Tuesday morning.
Deputies and Animal Control eventually captured the gator, but not before it put up a fight and destroyed a porch chair.
It's not clear what the gator was doing there, but the Houston area is recovering from overnight rains that led to flooding in parts of the region.
