United Airlines flight bound for Houston from Tampa returns to gate after reportedly hitting bird

United flight 164 made an emergency landing at Tampa International Airport after the plane reportedly struck a bird during takeoff.

United Airlines flight 164, departing for Houston from Tampa reported a possible bird strike during takeoff and returned to Tampa International Airport on Wednesday morning.

The aircraft landed safely and parked at the gate while officials check for any damage.

The flight to Houston was delayed until 8:59 a.m. on Wednesday.
