Troopers locate driver suspected of hitting and killing bicyclist in New Port Richey

NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. -- A bicyclist is dead after a hit-and-run traffic crash on Rowan Road in New Port Richey, authorities said.

Shanna Rampino surrendered her 2000 Toyota pickup to Florida Highway Patrol troopers Sunday afternoon. 

The FHP believes the truck hit a 46-year-old man riding a bicycle on Rowan Road early Sunday morning then drove away.

Shawn Michael Grady of New Port Richey suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.

Grady was riding his bike about 5:45 a.m. Sunday southbound on Rowan Road south of Massachusetts Avenue when a Toyota pickup headed in the same direction hit the bicycle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

State troopers are asking anyone with additional information about the incident to contact the Florida Highway Patrol by calling *FHP or Crime Stoppers at 800-873-TIPS or (8477).
