Teen seriously injured in hit-and-run in Pasco County, part of mirror left behind

State troopers are looking for the driver who left a 17-year-old boy seriously injured along a Pasco County Road, officials said.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports around Friday around 7:00 p.m., a vehicle southbound on U.S. 301 hit Austyn Cochuyt of Zephyrhills while the teen walked northbound on the highway just south of the intersection of Justin Avenue. 

The vehicle failed to stop, leaving Austyn behind.

Troopers located a greenish/gray side mirror at the scene that belongs to a Honda Accord.
