COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — Investigators have named the suspect in the murder of a Sarasota man in Naples.

According to the Sarasota County Sheriff's office, 55-year-old Sergio Hostins of Sarasota was reported missing on Monday, October 8.

The next day, the Collier County Sheriff's Office launched a death investigation at a home on 102nd Avenue North in the Naples Park community.

Detectives now believe that 31-year-old Daniel Davenport murdered Hostins there and issued a warrant for his arrest.

Initially, detectives had reason to believe Davenport may have been in the Tampa Bay area, driving Hostins’ vehicle; a green Subaru Forrester bearing Florida license plate IE801K.

Tuesday afternoon, they posted on their Facebook page that they now believe Davenport is in the Orlando area driving Hostins’ vehicle.

Davenport is 6’3” tall, weighs 203 lbs., has brown hair and hazel eyes. Detectives believe Davenport has recently shaved his face.

Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance to locate Davenport and asking anyone who sees him or the described vehicle, to immediately contact the agency’s Criminal Investigation Section at (941) 861-4900 or dial 911.
