A road rage suspect is under arrest in Palmetto after shots were fired along US 301 early Wednesday morning.

The suspect reportedly shot a gun at two people in a different vehicle, and then continued south along US 301. The victims stopped and called police.

Palmetto police then put out an alert for other agencies to be on the look out -- and it made all the difference.

Down the road, the suspect reportedly stopped to get coffee at a 7-11, where a Manatee County deputy happened to spot a car fitting the description in the alert. After a few pointed questions, the deputy detained the driver until Palmetto police came to make the arrest.

The two victims later identified the suspect, 29-year-old Arian Osborne, at the police station. Neither victim was injured, but the bullets hit the car they were in.

Osborne was alone in his car. Deputies recovered a handgun in the car he was driving.
