Fire tore through Sinderella's Boutique, a former East Fowler Avenue business, causing extensive damage early Wednesday morning.

The fire at 330 E. Fowler Ave. was reported shortly before 3 a.m.

Heavy smoke and flames were pouring from the building when firefighters arrived. Firefighters had the blaze under control 30 minutes later.

Tampa police officers went to the scene to assist.

Westbound East Fowler Avenue is closed from Interstate 275 to North Florida Avenue and will remain closed until Tampa Fire Rescue secures the scene, Tampa police Lt. Ruth Cate said in a news release.

Investigators form the State Fire Marshal's Office were called to the scene to determine the cause and origin of the fire.

The building was unoccupied and had no electricity.

One firefighter suffered a minor injury and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.  The firefighter was expected to return to full duty.
