TAMPA, Fla. — Saturday, October 26 is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. It is a chance for you to safely get rid of unused or expired prescription medications you don't need anymore.
The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe and convenient way of disposing of unwanted prescription drugs and for the first time, vaping devices, pods or cartridges.
According to the 2017 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, six million Americans misused controlled prescription drugs.

Many police departments, sheriff's offices and Walmart stores are participating in the drug take back.
There are 32 dropoff locations in the Tampa Bay area. The events will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.
