Terrifying moments for a Walgreens pharmacist when a gunman entered the store put a gun to her head and demanded pain killers.
The pharmacist was not injured during the robbery but, according to Polk County investigators, had the “gun to her head and threatened to shoot her if she made any noise.”
Surveillance video captured the man walking into the store and then jumping the counter and threatening the pharmacist.
The robbery took place at the 24 Hour Walgreens in North Lakeland on U.S. Highway 98. Detectives believe he is responsible for other pharmacy robberies outside of Polk County.
Investigators said the “suspect first went to the Walgreens on South Florida Avenue in Lakeland, and left without incident,” according to a news release by the sheriff’s department.
He is described as having unusual clothing. Deputies are asking the public to look “specifically at his Detroit Red Wings baseball cap. He’s also wearing a purple glove on his right hand, the one holding the gun. He’s about 5’7” tall, medium build, wearing grey sweatpants, black and white New Balance sneakers with white laces, a white T-shirt, a camo hoodie, and black framed glasses.”
If anyone has information about this incident or can identify this suspect, they are urged to contact Detective Reveron at 863-298-6947.
