If you're seeing or smelling smoke in your area, you are not alone.

ABC Action News has received numerous viewer messages regarding a smoky smell or seeing smoke in the area on Tuesday night.

Levy County is executing a controlled 3,800-acre burn, and winds are carrying the smoke to various regions of the Tampa Bay area. According to the Florida Forest Service, the prescribed burn is expected to continue through Thursday, meaning smoke could still be visible by then.

On Tuesday, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue says residents will see and smell smoke into the evening hours. The skies appear to be clear in the area now, but viewers in Pinellas County said on Wednesday evening that there is still smoke in the area.

Anyone with lung conditions or breathing ailments should stay indoors and keep windows closed.

Since the burn is controlled and planned, there is no cause for concern.
