LAKELAND, Fla. -- Detectives with the Lakeland Police Department are asking for the public's help in solving a homicide that occurred Saturday morning.
A 38-year-old man was found shot to death just before 2:00 a.m. in an alleyway in the 500 block of West Magnolia Street. According to the police report, officers were dispatched to that location in response an injured man call.
Mack Holloman Jr., a Lakeland resident with a lengthy criminal history, was transported to Lakeland Regional Health Center where he later died. Investigators with the department's Violent Crimes Unit canvassed the neighborhood and gathered evidence but have yet to identify a suspect.
The deceased served six stints in state prison for a variety of convictions out of Polk County. Most of Holloman Jr.'s crimes were drug related according to court records.
