Investigators arrested a Tampa man for allegedly leaving the teens he was taking care of alone for weeks without food or money.

Tampa Police say Mark Montaque left two under aged girls in an apartment for four months between August and December 2016.

A warrant for his arrest shows he's accused of leaving them without food for two weeks.

Montaque's wife tells ABC Action News her husband is innocent and the girls are making the story up.

She says he's a good man who took care of the girls and provided them with an apartment to live in while he was working as a truck driver.

The warrant says Montque also punched and hit the girls with an electrical cord.

He’s now charged with child abuse and  two counts of child neglect.
