A 22-year-old motorcyclist died early Saturday morning after his bike ran off Perrine Ranch Road in Trinity and crashed, authorities said.
A 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed failed to negotiate a curve on Perrine Ranch Road at Meadowood Drive about 5:30 a.m. Saturday, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The motorcycle left the road, overturned and collided with a ditch. The biker was taken to Trinity Hospital, where he later died.
The biker has been identified as Lucas Daniel Cowden, 22, of Palm Harbor, the FHP said. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
