One person was injured when a SUV and an older model Jeep collided early Friday morning at Indian Rocks Road and W. Bay Drive in Belleair Bluffs, authorities said. A driver who ran from the scene was later arrested.
The SUV crossed the center line on W Bay Dr and slammed nearly head on into an antique-style Jeep, according to the PInellas County Sheriff's Office.
The driver of SUV, whose name has not been released, then fled the scene but was later taken into custody. The SUV driver is facing charges including hit and run. A passenger in the SUV was taken to the hospital as a trauma alert. No information was available about the individual's condition.
The driver of the Jeep was uninjured.
