Officials said the victim of a St. Pete shooting early Monday is expected to survive a gunshot wound to the chest, but the suspect is still a large.
A man in a tank top opened fire near the intersection of 49th Street South and 22nd Avenue South in St. Petersburg just before 4 a.m. Monday, according to St. Petersburg police. Investigators said they believe the shooting was drug-related.
Emergency responders took the 29-year-old male victim to a nearby hospital. Police said the victim was going in and out of consciousness, but a later police report classified the injuries as "non-life threatening."
No further suspect or victim information was immediately available.
