Palm Harbor Creative Arts Center, a new oasis for artists and art enthusiasts, is opening its doors in Pinellas County.
The arts center at 1103 Florida Ave. in Palm Harbor will offer a variety of classes in arts, crafts, dance, yoga and meditation, all designed to help patrons achieve personal growth of mind, body and spirit.
Michele Tortorici, the center's founder and owner, notes the importance of creativity being vital to expand your mind, improve focus and give you confidence.
While hosting painting classes at her home, Tortorici began to realize she needed larger accommodations. She wanted to spread the message about the importance of creativity and needed more space to get other artists involved.
She aims to let people find their own creative expression and offer an outlet for inner peace.
Tortorici has pledged to donate 5% of sales revenue at the center to a select group of local charities each month.
The arts center is open from 2 p.m to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17.
Residents can drop by to see the holiday parade, which begins at 3 p.m., then stick around for festivities at the arts center.
