Two boaters who never returned from a Sunday fishing trip on the Manatee River have been located and are safe after an overnight Coast Guard search and rescue.
Thomas Batten, 33, from St. Petersburg and Ryan Killoran, 27, from Bradenton were last seen around 6 p.m. Sunday. They said they would fish for a couple more hours, according to a Coast Guard report, but then ran out of fuel.
The two men left from the 59th Street boat ramp in Bradenton at sunrise Sunday.
Several agencies were involved in the search, including the FWC, the USCG, MCSO and Bradenton PD.
