A man was hit late Thursday night by a vehicle on U.S. 301 just north of Interstate 4 near Tampa, authorities said.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the incident occurred shortly before midnight on U.S. 301 near Hampton Oaks Parkway.
The pedestrian was attempting to cross southbound lanes of U.S. 301 when he was struck by a vehicle. The names of the pedestrian and motorist have not been released.
The man was taken to an area hospital in unknown condition, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The victim was not in a crosswalk when the accident occurred.
State troopers are continuing the investigation. No charges have been filed.
