A Tampa mother woke up to the sound of a car crashing into the side of her apartment on Wednesday morning.
A man has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident after he reportedly drove his SUV into the side of the apartment complex, and tried to get away. He gave the woman living in the apartment affected a fake phone number, but police eventually tracked him down.
The crash left a hole in the wall of a child's bedroom. No one was injured in the accident. The children were sleeping in their mother's room when the incident occurred.
"It's kind of upsetting because he was kind of nonchalant about it and if my kids were in there it would have been much worse," says the mother.
Police officers wanted to make it clear that the man responsible for the crash is an Army applicant.
