A 64-year-old man crossing 34th Street North was struck and killed by a SUV Tuesday night, authorities said.
The incident occurred when the man was crossing from east to west on 34th Street near 33rd Avenue North about 9:35 p.m. Tuesday, the St. Petersburg Police Department said.
A 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Kendra Thompson was traveling northbound on 34th Street approaching 33rd Avenue when the front of the Tahoe struck the man.
The victim, whose name was not released pending notification of next of kin, was thrown onto the road and died at the scene.
No further information was available early Wednesday.
