A 26-year-old man remained in the hospital Saturday after Pasco deputies said he fatally stabbed a woman in New Port Richey then turned the knife on himself.
Dayvon Heath was being treated at an area hospital for a self-inflicted knife wound.
According to Pasco sheriff's deputies, the incident occurred Friday evening in the 4900 block of Green Key Road in New Port Richey.
Shortly after 7:30 p.m. Friday, deputies responded to a report of a stabbing on Green Key Road, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said.
When they arrived, they found Felicia Rich, 28, who had been fatally stabbed, and the injured suspect.
Heath was taken to the hospital with a non-life threatening injury.
He was arrested and charged with first degree murder early Saturday.
When released from the hospital, Heath will be taken to the Pasco County Jail for booking.
