Your commute in and around Ybor is about to get easier. A 2-year, multi-million dollar construction project along 21st St. and 22nd St. is complete.

The project provided pedestrian and bike connectivity between Adamo Drive and Hillsborough Avenue. Major features include: wider sidewalks, on-street parking, brick crosswalks, landscaping, new lampposts, repairs to the storm water sewer system, and installation of a new water main.

On top of the construction and beautification project, Tampa City council has decided to ban all truck traffic. At a recent meeting, members voted to ban all trucks on 21st and 22nd. The only trucks allowed will be those making local deliveries.

Friday at 2pm there will be a celebration in Ybor to mark the completion of the project. No thru truck traffic signs will be revealed in the afternoon.
