Four days away from Thanksgiving, the crowd started gathering outside George Steinbrenner Field in Tampa on a brisk, chilly Sunday morning to get one of 1,500 turkeys to be giveaway.
Several hundred people donning jackets and coats formed a long line before 8 a.m. Sunday.
The free turkeys were available to anyone who arrived at the baseball stadium at North Dale Mabry and West Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard by 9 a.m. or until they all were handed out.
