JUST A DRILL: St. Pete agencies conducting internal drill at Tropicana Field on Wednesday

If you see emergency vehicles surrounding Tropicana Field on Wednesday, do not panic! 

St. Pete police and several other agencies are conducting some drills at the stadium from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Officials say that the Rays are doing an emergency training exercise to evaluate the staff's evacuation plan. 

Police want to make sure everyone knows this is just a drill. 

TAMPA BAY RAYS PRESS RELEASE: 

WHAT: The Tampa Bay Rays, in collaboration with the city of St. Petersburg, Pinellas County and federal law enforcement agencies, will participate in an internal emergency preparedness training exercise, which is closed to the media and the public. The exercise is intended to evaluate the evacuation plan by gameday staff, team officials and first responders as part of a simulated Rays game.
               
Please be advised that any emergency vehicle surrounding Tropicana Field is playing a role in the exercise and is not responding to a crisis.

WHEN: Wednesday, December 7 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
