Two semi tractor trailers traveling in opposite directions jackknifed near the Interstates 275 and 4 interchange Sunday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

A tractor trailer traveling northbound on I-275 just north of I-4 struck the median and jackknifed about 7:45 a.m. Sunday. Northbound I-275 traffic was bottle-legged into one lane until the incident was cleared.

Minutes later, a tractor trailer headed south on the I-275 ramp to I-4 struck the inside concrete barrier wall and also jackknifed.

The accidents, which occurred on slick pavement during rainy conditions, shut down or delayed interstate traffic in both directions near downtown Tampa.

All interstate lanes were cleared and reopened by 11 a.m.
