Hundreds of job opportunities for young people

There's a growing number of job opportunities for young people throughout the Bay area.

BellHops, a nationwide moving service, has hired more than a hundred local college students and is continuing to hire more.
USF Student Ruben Sanchez has been working for the company for several months as a mover and likes the flexible hours the company offers.

"Schedules every semester change," he said. "People have to take certain classes at certain times. It's a little bit of a relief that it's there. It's an opportunity that I have."

Now, BellHops is looking for even more college student workers.

"The summer months are also really busy for moving," said Tyler Dever, BellHops USF Campus Director. " A lot of families move in the summer."

Those are not the only job opportunities.

CareerSource Pinellas is launching a virtual job fair from May 8-14, dedicated specifically to people ages 16-24.

You can apply online and list your talents and skills, not just a resume. There are more than hundred and 150 local companies who have listed jobs and there are hundreds of positions available, in industries like building, landscaping, hospitality, restaurant hospitality and more.

CareerSource Pinellas said for those young people still struggling to find a job, don't give up. They believe there are still many more job opportunities for young people on the way for the summer months.

"Don't get discouraged if you're not getting the phone call," said Jason Druding of CareerSource Pinellas. "Don't get discouraged if you don't get the first interview that you go on."
