ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Police are investigating a deadly shooting during a home invasion in south St. Petersburg on Sunday morning.

Officers says three suspects forced their way into a home in the 4100 block of 11th Avenue South shortly after 5:30 a.m.

The three brothers who live in the home were all inside when the suspects entered. Gunfire erupted and one suspect was shot and died inside the house. Two brothers living in the home were injured.

Police say 25-year-old Ackeem Marks is in critical condition and 20-year-old Shaevaughn Marks suffered non-life threatening injuries.

St. Pete Police identified the home invasion suspect killed as 35-year-old Cory McClendon. The two other suspects are still at large. Detectives do not believe the home invasion was a random act.
