SEFFNER, Fla. — Hillsborough County deputies arrested a high school student for battery after a fight on campus was caught on video, then shared online.

Deputies said a 14-year-old female student punched, kicked and dragged another 14-year-old.

The fight happened on October 25 inside a school bathroom. Another student filmed the incident and posted it on social media.

"Everyone breaks out their phone to record it instead of breaking up the fight," said parent Marcus Bryant.

Cell phone video shows the student kicking the other student causing her to nearly hit her head on a bathroom sink.

"What are you teaching your child? Why does you child think it's okay to put their hands on someone else?" said Bryant.

Deputies said the suspect was mad because the victim's cousins were following her around campus.

School administration entered the bathroom after hearing the victim scream and managed to pull the students apart.

"Parents need to teach kids to have respect for other people," said one parent who asked us not to use her name.

Deputies said the suspect was suspended from school pending change of placement. The student who recorded the incident is being disciplined in accordance to school guidelines, according to deputies.

The Hillsborough County School District released the following statement:

"This behavior is not tolerated on our campuses. School leaders will deal with this situation administratively to ensure the safety of our students. We want all students to take pride in our schools and know they come to school to learn."

The student was arrested at her house without incident. She is charged with battery and false imprisonment.

ABC Action News is not identifying the student because of her age. We stopped by the student's house. She did not want to speak with us.
