The sound of music will fill the Tampa sky March 11 and 12.

It marks the sixth return of the Gasparilla Music Festival at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park on North Ashley Drive.

More than 40 bands will perform on a mix of four stages during the two-day music extravaganza.

The event will feature headliners Cage the Elephant on Saturday and Ryan Adams on Sunday, along with a wide range of local musicians and singers eager to whet a variety of musical appetites. Food and beverages will be provided by local food vendors and Cigar City Brewing.

The festival benefits arts in local schools.

Children 12 and under will be able to attend for free. The festival will include a music venue for children.

The Glazer Children's Museum is partnering with the Gasparilla Music Foundation for GMF Kids Fest 2017 featuring the Grammy Award winning kids band Secret Agent 23 Skidoo March 12.
