FWC: Red tide reduced in Manatee, Sarasota counties

TAMPA, Fla. — The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission says there have been reductions in red tide in Sarasota and Manatee counties this week. 

Concentrations were background to low in Manatee and Sarasota. Meanwhile, Pinellas concentrations were very low to high, according to the report. 

No samples were analyzed in Hillsborough County this week, the report says. 

Respiratory irritation was reported in Pinellas at Caladesi Island and Clearwater Beach this week. As well as in Manatee at Coquina Beach and Manatee Beach. In Sarasota at Lido Key, Manasota Beach, Nokomis, Siesta Key, Venice Beach and Venice North Jetty.
