Florida Nursery, Growers and Landscape Association launched a fundraising effort to provide career paths for qualified students.
The FNGLA is seeking an organization willing to make a $15,000 to $25,000 investment in its landscaping. The FNGLA is kicking off the project to help pay for scholarships.
On March 26, Three FNGLA representatives Friedel Scholl, president of Soho Landscape, and Will Womack, president of Tampa Bay Landscaping and Horticulture, and students Haley Riley, the Florida Strawberry Festival Queen and a Durant High student; and Taryn Storter, the Florida Strawberry Festival Horticulture Plant Reserve Champ and vice president of the student body at Tomlinson Middle School, dropped by the ABC Action News Studios to demonstrate a landscaping display.
The goal of the scholarship program is to offer financial assistance to aspiring growers like Haley and Taryn, who are dedicated to make Florida look beautiful.
