14 years ago Mary Lou Compton started going to Fancy Nails on Kennedy Boulevard.
"I am very happy all the time," said Compton.
And now Compton and many other customers couldn't be prouder of the brother-sister team running the nail salon.
"I think is a beautiful thing," said Renee Salvary.
Barbra Cocker said," It's definitely good for the soul, I feel so much lighter leaving here today than when I came in."
And it's not from the indulgences of their manicures and pedicures.
"I think it sets an example for other businesses to step up and do the same thing," said Judy McKelligott.
Friday, Sept. 22, every cent from services to tips will go to hurricane victims. All employees are joining the owners in supporting the cause
"We feel so lucky and we look at all the sad news on TV. And we see so many victims and the infants and the baby supplies; they are short on resources and we feel like we should do something," said Ken Vu, one of the owners.
Ken Vu and sister Lan Doan's business is a small one but their sacrifice sends a larger message.
"Hopefully a lot of businesses in the neighborhood and bigger businesses will stand out and join us," said Vu.
Customers feel the same way.
"We all can give. They are just setting the example for us," said McKelligott.
"It only starts with one and when everybody else falls into line we can definitely make a huge difference," said Salvary.
The salon is located on 4038 W Kennedy Blvd, Tampa, FL 33609 and is open from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
