Multiple schools in Tampa were placed on a modified lockdown on Tuesday morning due to police activity because of reports of shots fired.

As of 12:15 p.m., the lockdown was lifted.

Tampa police say they responded to the 1600 block of East Cayuga Street for a report of gunshots. Two black males were reported to be arguing and then firing at each other.

One male was last seen wearing a green hoodie, tan cargo shorts and riding a lime green BMX-style bicycle. The second male was reportedly wearing a white t-shirt and jean shorts.

Police say shell casings were found in the area.

At this time, there isn't a victim and there are no reported injuries.

The reported shooting was not school related, however, Edison Elementary, Lockhart Elementary, Middleton High, Ferrell Middle, Young Middle, Sanchez Center and Orange Grove Middle were placed on "lock-in" status while police investigate.
