TAMPA, Fla. — The Junior League of Tampa is in need of diapers to help some of the bay area's most vulnerable children.

As one of the only major diaper banks in Hillsborough County, The Junior League of Tampa's Diaper Bank serves to combat diaper need within the Tampa Bay area by supplying diapers to programs in our community. Diaper need is the lack of a sufficient supply of diapers to keep a baby clean, dry and healthy.

The Junior League of Tampa creates diaper kits consisting of 25 diapers, one package of disposable wipes and one bottle of diaper cream. A family needs a minimum of five diapers per day to be able to send a child to daycare.

"Parents who don't have enough diapers to send their child to daycare can't go to work or school," said Caroline Foss of The Junior League of Tampa.

Foss helped create the organization's Diaper Bank in Tampa Bay after seeing how great the need was for diapers in Houston following Hurricane Harvey.

The Diaper Bank currently accepts the following items:

  • Diapers – all sizes
  • Disposable Training Pants – all sizes
  • Baby Wipes
  • Diaper Cream
  • Adult Diapers – all sizes
  • Menstrual Pads
  • Tampons

Diapers can be accepted in opened packages. The organization can currently only accept unopened packages of wipes, diaper cream, menstrual pads, and tampons.
