Deputies: Tampa man broke into home, beat pregnant woman

A Tampa man has been arrested and charged after he reportedly broke into a home and beat the mother of his unborn child. 

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office says Lewis Adam Ladarius, 23, has been charged with two counts of burglary of dwelling with assault or battery, four counts of false imprisonment, and two counts of aggravated battery on a pregnant female, battery. 

Ladarius forced himself into the home on Morris Bridge Road by breaking out the glass in the front door of the home, deputies say. 

The victim and her three roommates were inside of the home at the time of the incident.

Ladarius started hitting the victim with his hands and feet when he got inside of the home. The victim and her three roommates ran to the back bedroom and Ladarius followed them. He continued to hit the victim and at one point, he hit two of the roommates. The women escaped the room and the victim ran to a neighbor's house. Ladarius followed her and continued to hit her, deputies say. 

When deputies arrived they arrested Ladarius and took him into custody. 

The victim, 7-months pregnant, was taken to the hospital for treatment.
