Authorities are looking for a group of men who carjacked a mother, her daughter, and her daughter's boyfriend while they were stargazing.

The violent attack happened Thursday evening along Frazee Hill Road in Dade City. ABC Action News spoke to the Dade City woman who was carjacked; she did not want to be identified.

Deputies said the spot is a popular area for stargazing and to watch the sunset.

"My daughter was sitting in the car in the driver's seat and myself and my daughter's boyfriend were outside of the car on the passenger side, just standing there looking up at the sky," the woman said.

According to deputies, that's when all of a sudden a white sedan parked and a group of men jumped out, beating up the young man and yanking the young girl out of the van.

"It was a nightmare and it was absolutely terrorizing," she cried.

Deputies said Thursday night's attack was random. The families describe the young kids as good kids.

"As a mom, it was gut wrenching. My phone was on the hood of the car and I knew that and they didn't really see me so I called 911," she said.

Deputies said the suspects abandoned the stolen van about 5 hours later. If you saw the stolen van between Thursday 9 p.m. and Friday 2 a.m., call the sheriff's office. If you have heard the suspects bragging about the carjacking, call authorities immediately.

"This is a small town and we're going to find who did this one way or another no matter how long it takes. We're not taking this lying down. We want our town back and we want our safety back," she said.

She continued, "we don't know why it happened. We don't know why they chose this moment".

The woman also said, "Everybody knows everybody and everybody is related. So we are going to find out who did this to us".

According to the mother of the young man who was injured, he suffered bleeding to the brain and a fractured skull. He continues recovering at the hospital.

If anyone has any information about this case, they need to call the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.
