Tampa police are investigating the discovery of several decapitated animals along the Courtney Campbell Causeway.
A police officer responding to a call found several decapitated chickens and a pile of fruit and flowers along the northern access road of the Courtney Campbell Causeway shortly before 10 p.m. Monday, Tampa police spokeswoman Eddy Durkin said in a statement.
During the investigation, the officer also spotted a small, multi-colored goat, a duck and an unidentifiable bird. They all had been decapitated.
A woman who met the officer at the scene said she had seen decapitated animals in the area before, but this was the first time she called police, the release stated.
Workers with the Florida Department of Transportation cleaned up the area and disposed of the remains on Tuesday,
