Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies are investigating a deadly traffic crash on East Broadway Avenue just west of Tampa Sunday morning, officials said.
Two cars collided head on on East Broadway Ave. at Pine Lawn Ave. west of North Falkenburg Road about 6 a.m. Sunday, Hillsborough County sheriff's officials said.
One person died at the scene and one was taken to an area hospital.
Broadway Avenue was closed in both directions while sheriff's office homicide traffic investigators collected evidence at the scene.
North Falkenburg Road remains open.
To avoid the crash scene, eastbound motorists on East Broadway Avenue can detour to Queen Palm Drive then to North Falkenburg Road.
