A couple of Pinellas County parents are facing charges for allegedly neglecting their 8-month-old while they did drugs.
According to an arrest affidavit, Thomas Machuta and Mary Lynn Flack took what appeared to be "spice" on Friday and passed out in a park on 64th Avenue North just off of 54th Avenue North in Pinellas County.
Witnesses report the couple left a baby crying in a stroller in the park.
Attempts by the witnesses to wake the couple up didn't work, so witnesses called for authorities.
Machuta and Flack are now being held on Child Neglect charges, while the baby is in the custody of the Sheriff's Child Protection Division.
The couple admitted to their neglect, according to the arrest affidavit. The drugs in their possession are still in the process of being inspected by the state, so additional charges could come in this case as well.
