Clearwater is now home to the second medical marijuana dispensary in the state of Florida.
The dispensary, located at 24761 US Highway 19N #630 in Clearwater will officially open on Thursday, August 18.
Trulieve (George Hackney, Inc.) delivers statewide and opened their first location in Tallahassee in July.
"As the first licensee to not only receive authorization to dispense but to open our doors, and make the first sale of any kind, it is also exciting to open our second dispensary so quickly," said Trulieve CEO Kim Rivers. "We are also delivering statewide and plan to have several more locations come online this year."
The location will offer low THC and high THC medical cannabis to patients listed on the Florida Department of Health's Compassionate Use Registry.

"As a physician I feel it is my duty to ensure patients are given all the options available, so I am very pleased that medical cannabis is now an industry recognized course of treatment I can recommend for my appropriate patients," said Dr. Kathy L. Anderson, a local physician.
