Carrollwood Cultural Center set for 2017 Summer Concert Series

The Carrollwood Cultural Center at 4537 Lowell Road in Tampa kicks off its 2017 Summer Concert Series on Sunday, May 21, at 4 p.m.

The annual concert series offers spectators a chance to enjoy a variety of music genre. 

On Saturday, May 20, Paul Berg, the cultural center's exective director, talked to ABC Action News Weekend Morning anchor Lindsay Logue about this year's concert series and other center activities.

The concert series will open Sunday with a classical music concert titled Strings in the Spring, featuring pianist Franz Mantini and guest violinist Tiffany Lu.

On June 10 at 8 p.m. the center will welcome back the Cypress Creek Dixieland Jazz Band for a third appearance. 

The center will showcase comedy at 8 p.m. July 29 when the center presents its annual Girls Night Out Comedy Show, featuring an all-female lineup. The event headliner is Susan Saiger, featured comic Rene Bray and emcee Catherine Maloney.

The center will host a tribute to folk singer-songwriter James Taylor on Aug. 5 at 8 p.m.
